Test prep attracts big promises. This page is the short version of what is actually true about Florida Civics Prep, so you can check it before you spend anything.
Who we are
Florida Civics Prep is operated by Built To Pass, LLC. The course is built and taught by Dr. Jason Ampel, with content written by Florida educators. You can read about the people on our team and why the brand exists on our mission.
We are not the state, and we do not speak for it
The Florida Civic Literacy Exam (FCLE) is administered under the Florida Department of Education. Florida Civics Prep is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Florida Department of Education. The passing score is set by State Board of Education rule 6A-10.02413, F.A.C.
We explain the requirement in plain English on the civic literacy requirement page, but it is an overview and not academic advice. Requirements differ by catalog year and by institution, and your academic advisor is the authority on yours.
Our questions are ours
Every practice question is written by us against the published blueprint. We do not reproduce real exam items, and we do not claim access to them. When a question rehearses a format, it is because the format is published, not because we have seen the test.
The Pass Guarantee has conditions, and they are on the page
The guarantee is a real refund commitment with real requirements, including finishing the course and clearing our practice bar on the practice tests and the final. Those requirements are listed on the Pass Guarantee page and are shown inside the course on the tests they govern, so you can work toward them rather than discover them at refund time.
Your data
We collect what the course needs to work: your account, your progress, and your answers, so the coaching can be about you rather than about averages. We do not sell personal information. The full detail is in our privacy policy, and what we set in your browser is in our cookie policy.
Telling us we are wrong
If something on this site is inaccurate, email info@getyourcivicson.com and we will correct it. That includes the civics: if we have explained a case or a document badly, we would rather know.
