We're dedicated to giving high school and college students the knowledge, skill, and attitude they deserve when it comes to passing the Florida Civic Literacy Exam. Not memorization. Not luck. A real plan, real strategy, and the confidence to use both on exam day.
Why I Built Florida Civics Prep
I wasn't a natural test-taker. I was a B-track kid with learning disabilities who got pulled out of class for extra help — and who bombed plenty of tests growing up. What changed everything wasn't getting smarter. It was learning how tests actually work — and having someone believe I could do it.
My mom fought to keep me in mainstream classes when the school wanted to track me down. She believed in me. Now I believe in students.
Years later, teaching at UCF, I watched the same scene every semester: a group of students in the back of the room with flashcards, quizzing each other, panicking — "none of these questions look like anything on the test." They knew the material. They were still failing. That's not a knowledge problem. It's a strategy and confidence problem. So I built the fix.
That's why Florida Civics Prep exists. I don't take the test for you — I put you in the best position to pass: the strategy to break down the questions, and the confidence to trust yourself when it counts. Because confidence is built, not born.
