What the rule actually says

Check before you spend a dollar

Florida’s civic literacy requirement is written for the Florida College System and the State University System. the University of Tampa is independent (private), so the state mandate does not bind UT students on its own.

It can still reach you. If you transfer into a Florida public university, if you are earning dual enrollment or transfer credit at one, or if a specific program has adopted the requirement, then it applies to you the same way it applies to everyone else, at the same 60 percent cut.

Ask your advisor before you buy anything. We would rather tell you that than sell a UT student prep they may not need.

If you do need it
