Hi! My name is Andrew Wade and I am a passionate educator dedicated to making history engaging and relevant for my students. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science Education and possesses certifications in Social Science for grades 6-12 and Mathematics for grades 5-9.
I'm in my 16th year of teaching, and I've held roles such as Grade Level Leader and Social Studies Department Leader. I have conducted district-wide trainings on integrating technology in the classroom and implementing flipped classroom models. To support this, I also runs a YouTube channel where I provide educational content tailored for my students. I also led workshops on implementing scales and standards-based grading in Social Studies.
Throughout my career, I have taught World History, U.S. History, and Civics. For two years, I served as a New Teacher Center Trained Mentor, guiding new educators in my school.
I have enhanced my teaching skills through various grants from the Teaching American History program, which included field studies across the country led by period scholars. A significant focus of these trainings has been the effective use of primary sources in Social Studies.
I am deeply committed to connecting historical lessons to my students’ lives, engaging them actively with the content, and fostering a deep understanding of history’s relevance today.
